Honouring Pat Roper’s Legacy at Destiny Garden School
At Destiny Garden School, we believe in recognising and encouraging student achievements, and we are proud to announce the creation of the Pat Roper Trophy for the Most Improved Student. This award is a tribute to Pat Roper, one of the founding Trustees of Destiny Children, who played a pivotal role in supporting the charity’s mission to provide education for disadvantaged children in Mombasa. Since 2009, Pat worked tirelessly to ensure that students had access to learning opportunities, and his legacy continues to inspire future generations.
In memory of Pat’s dedication, the Most Improved Student Trophy has been introduced as an annual award, encouraging students to excel not only in academics but also in music, art, and sports. This initiative motivates students to develop a well-rounded skill set, fostering their confidence and ambition.
This year, we are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of three students who have demonstrated remarkable dedication and improvement in their respective fields:
Pat Roper Trophy (Most Improved Student 2024) – Ketlyn Baraza, Grade 4
Joe Hunt Trophy (Footballer of the Year 2024) – Rahim Ali, Grade 6
Shaun Stewart Thornley Trophy (Athlete of the Year 2024) – Venesa Kemunto, Grade 6
At Destiny Garden School, we understand the importance of recognising hard work and dedication. Awards like these help students build confidence and inspire them to keep striving for excellence in all areas of life. By celebrating their achievements, we reinforce the belief that effort and perseverance lead to success.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to keeping Pat Roper’s vision alive. Through your support, we continue to empower and uplift the students of Destiny Garden School, helping them to create brighter futures.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
