Additional Food Parcels given to DGS Families
On 20th December, Destiny Children sent a second amount of money to Destiny Garden School for food parcels following more kind donations. Parents and former DGS pupils still haven’t received any government form of aid since the mass flooding from the El Nino rains in the country.

By the evening of the 20th, staff who were joined by former DGS pupils had completed the food packages. By 6.30am the next day, many parents had arrived at the gate of the school eager to receive the food packages when the handouts started at 8 am.
The food distribution was completed by former DGS school pupils who are now sponsored in different high schools and some current DGS pupils. In total, food packages were provided to 350 parents of pupils and former students in high school who were in need. Sadly, as 150 additional local people came to the school gates asking for support, there were not enough food packages for all. After prioritising those with children in education, they continued helping those that they could.
We are eternally grateful. Destiny Children has sent a total of £14,000 for 2 food drops thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. You can read about our first donation of food parcels here. Hopefully, the Kenyan Government will now be in a position to provide aid in this area; at least when the DGS children return in January after their long 9-week school holiday they will all receive a good school lunch and the pre-primary children a breakfast, which we might be in a position to extend to the rest of the school.
