Queensgate Bake Sale

Queensgate Primary School in Bramhall, Cheshire have become a sponsor of Destiny Garden School following an assembly about the school and the charity. The children were very interested to see some of the big differences between their lives in the UK and that of their peers in Mombasa, but were also struck by some of the similarities. And they came up with some great fundraising ideas to help make DGS even better.

 

 

The first event was a bake sale organised by Year 6. Not only did the children enjoy baking, selling (and possibly eating) the cakes, they also raised over £180 for DGS. This is a fantastic total which has set the bar pretty high for the other year groups!

Year 6 were also thrilled to receive a “thank you Queensgate” photo from some of the children in Mombasa.
