How I spent August holidays Destiny Garden School Charity Kenya

What The DGS Students do in Their Holidays.

At Destiny Garden School, we love hearing how the students use their holiday time to learn, explore, and enjoy their childhood.

As part of returning to school, each child wrote or drew about their holiday, an activity that helps strengthen their English writing skills, build creativity in drawing (especially for our younger learners), and gives them the chance to learn from one another by sharing their experiences.

Victoria, one of our bright Grade 4 students, enjoyed an exciting visit to Holla Park where she saw crocodiles, giraffes, and turtles. She also spent quality time with her grandmother and aunt in Changamwe, played with friends, and kept up with her homework, all while enjoying a break from early morning wake-ups!

Dayyan, our creative PP1 learner, used his holidays to help at home. His artwork shows how busy he was cleaning kitchen utensils and learning the importance of responsibility, care, and teamwork. We’re delighted to see his creativity shine!

Natalia, our adventurous Grade 8 student, spent her break reading storybooks under a shady tree, visiting her grandparents, and making new friends. Her holiday was full of excitement, even including a surprise chase from bees while collecting honey! She also bathed in the river with local indigenous people, learning about their lifestyle and gaining unforgettable experiences.

Shanal, our caring PP2 student, dedicated her holiday to nurturing nature. Her artwork shows her watering plants and spending peaceful time outdoors, discovering how important it is to care for living things.

Nathan, our energetic PP2 star, spent his break playing football with friends, running, kicking, scoring goals, and learning about teamwork and staying active. His passion and enthusiasm shine both on and off the field.

Activities like writing or drawing about their holidays help our students develop confidence in expressing themselves, improve their language and communication skills, and create meaningful opportunities to share and learn from one another.

We’re so proud of the students for filling their holidays with curiosity, joy, learning, and kindness.
