Flooded playing field

Urgent Appeal for Help Following Floods

The recent El Nino rains in Mombasa have left families of Destiny Garden School (DGS) children in a state of crisis. Devastating floods have not only damaged homes but also put these children at risk of malnutrition and starvation.

We need your help to support these families in their time of need. Jacob Boaz, our School Director, has reached out to Destiny Children for assistance. While the Kenyan government and the Red Cross are doing their part, very little aid has reached Likoni.

We are launching a donation drive to send funds for food parcels, similar to those you generously funded during the lockdown. A food parcel, costing £19.30, can provide essential necessities to feed a family for a week.
Every donation counts, and together we can make a difference. Let’s stand united and extend our help to those facing the aftermath of this natural disaster.

To donate:
Please visit our donation page and reference your donation as ‘Food Parcels’

Each Food Parcel will consist of:
Wheat flour, 10Kg – £3.84
Maize flour, 5 Kg – £ 2.90
Rice, 5 Kg – £2.60
Beans, 5Kg – £2.90
Cooking Oil, 2 litres – £4.50
Sugar, 2Kg – £2.45
Salt, ½ Kg – £0.12

£19.30 will feed a family of five/seven for 7 to 10 days, so the cost of providing food parcels for 300 DGS families comes to £5,790.

The funds would provide a cup of tea with bread in the morning, and then a full meal of rice and beans either at lunch or in the evening. It does not include vegetables – tomatoes and onions would add an extra £2.50 per family.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
