Floods Mombasa Kenya near Destiny Garden School supported by Destiny Children charity

Devatating floods hits Mombasa

The rainy season has begun in Kenya and Mombasa is currently experiencing devastating floods. Over 46 lives have been lost with the death toll expected to rise, and hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless. Houses have been submerged and roads have been left impassable.

Thankfully, Destiny Garden School had the foresight to address potential challenges, using our emergency fund to raise the girls’ toilet and construct essential infrastructure. However, the soak pit outside the nursery is overflowing, posing potential health risks to the community. Several Destiny Garden School families’ homes are submerged, and the community field, crucial for both Destiny Children School and local families, requires extensive restoration.
